Rating by category:
The location of the hotel is fantastic. It's within walking distance of many areas which was great, also close to restaurants and shops. The area felt quite safe too which is always a bonus! The staff were also amazing, really, really friendly and very attentive. I would definitely stay here again. I had such a lovely experience with them.
Comfort of room; closeness to city centre and all amenities.
Room and shower very small but attractive and a lot of attention to detail.
Perfect location, nice and spacious rooms, good breakfast
Cosy and quiet place with very good breakfast and wifi in the room
Over priced - super over priced. Very shabby entrance - noisy hotel.
Great continental breakfast and friendly staff in an ideal location for hopping on a local or tour bus. We would definitely go back.
Excellent management and staff/ great breakfast/ideally located for tourist sights
Some of the rooms noisy
The hotel is situated in the centre of Rome. It is very convenient for business trips and city tours.
the enterior contemporary interiar design of the hotel
no parking , expensive , not good value for money , small room , no safe deposit box in the room
One young woman at the desk was sympathetic to our frustration and disappointment. Unfortunately she was limited in what she could do. The location was good for walking around Rome, but that couldn't compensate for not being able to sleep because the tram makes the whole building shake at regular intervals.
I don't understand how this hotel is a 4star, and how they can charge so much. It is impossible to sleep if you are in a room on the street. The rooms are tiny. There is no restaurant, room service or minibar. The breakfast was meager. The building hallways look as though they may crumble any minute.
Location, location, and location
Very small, uncomfortable, and overpriced room with tiny bathroom
The centrality of the location was excellent and the overall ambience was most pleasant. People visiting Rome must always keep the following in mind - The Italian star system equates (in most cases) to one less than our system. For example, for Italian 5star, read our 4star, etc. Having said that, the Locanda was of a much higher standard than our 3 star. The rooms on the front are larger than the average Roman double rooms. As for the reviewer who said it was hard to find, they must have had a bogus taxi driver! Via Arenula is the main street into Trastevere and the largo Argentina is one of the main historical sights of Rome and as close to a centre of the city as exists in Rome. Find either and you find the hotel.
While the advantage of the front rooms is the size and view of piazza Cairoli, the disadvantage is the noise from the street. The back rooms are smaller and darker (no view), but very much quieter.
The rooms were amazing, the beds were comfortable, the room spacious and there was a bathtub. My room had a tiny little balcony, and our other room had a window overlooking the small streets nearby. You are very close to most tourist sites and major areas ( Area Sacra is a min away, the Pantheon and Via del Corso are 10 - 15 mins away). They serve breakfast in the lobby area on a large dining table where all the guests sit together giving the hotel a "home away from home" feeling and when the kitchen staff found out we were Muslim they got us chicken and turkey the next day - which was both sweet and uncommon. The entire staff was helpful, polite and sweet. I highly recommend this hotel.
There wasn't a safe in the room, there wasn't a mini fridge either. Piece of advice: when getting to the address you won't find a big sign with the name on it. You'll find a gold intercom plaque - there on the lower right you'll see Locanda Cairoli 2 press that button and the staff will open the door for you, it's on the 1st floor.
see above - excellent place, great value
